Two rooms containing a combination of PCs and Macintoshes are available for use by DPF participants. You need to show your conference badge to gain admission to these rooms.
Netscape and a telnet client are available from all the machines.
The URL for the DPF96 home page is http://www.hep.umn.edu/dpf96.
To run the telnet client, double-click on the "Telnet" icon, then type in the internet address to which you wish to connect. When you're done, and have logged out of the remote machine, a box reading "Connection Closed" will appear, and clicking on "OK" will close the telnet application.
To run Netscape, double-click on Netscape Navigator. When done, pull down the "File" menu and choose "Exit".
To run the telnet client, click once on the "NCSA Telnet 2.7b1" icon. Then pull down the "File" menu, select "Open Connection", and type in the internet address to which you wish to connect. When you're done, and have logged out of the remote machine, pull down the "File" menu and select "Quit".
To run Netscape, double-click on Netscape Navigator. When done, pull down the "File" menu and choose "Exit".
If you need to print files transferred from an out-of-town computer, please download them to the "Lost & Found" folder on the Macs or the "SAVE" directory on the PCs, and delete them when you're finished with them.
